I am and always have been passionate about sports and training. Currently I am a personal trainer and have been for about  five years now. I train almost everyday and stick to strict eating. For the last two years, I have competed in the Athletic Physique category in IFBB (international Fitness and Body Building) competition. I enjoy pushing myself to new limits that I never knew I could reach. I manage 2 EMS (electro muscular stimulation) training studios in Bryanston and Rivonia and I am one of the four qualified master trainers in South Africa.

What does fitness mean to you?
Fitness for me is not how heavy you can lift or how far you can run. It is the mental ability to push your body to the extreme in any physical acitivity or challenge.

Why should someone attend FIBO Africa in October?
I think someone should attend this event as it’s a huge experience to see what is out there and to interact and open up your mind to the fitness and health industry to implement into your life and to educate oneself on something new or even to expand your current knowledge.

What are your top fitness tip?
Go hard or go home.

What is your preferred means of staying fit?
I have to set up my training periodically because of my competitions, the prep is seasonal meaning for some months I only do weight training and focus on building up my weak points or focusing on size and high calories. When it comes to dropping weight,  I increase cardio ( HIIT, crossfit, and weight training), decrease calories. I stick to strict dieting all year round and take off maybe a few days in December). I fully believe that if you eat correctly anything is achievable. 

How did your fitness journey start?
I have always been big into sports and talented since I was a little kid, I got really serious about the fitness industry in 2011.

What is your advice to someone who is wanting to start their fitness journey?
Do not hold back or compare yourself , you will always fall short. Step into the deep end and challenge yourself from the beginning, so not undermine your capabilities before ou have even attempted to engage.
